Safety on the Agogae Trail
Your safety is our number one priority at Camp Monroe, so
it is our number one priority on the challenge course. Our facilitators teach
spotting for the low initiatives and participants will use belay systems for the
high initiatives. We use only trained facilitators for the course. Safety
gear is inspected before and after each use to ensure it is functioning prope
rly
and that there are no visible signs of wear and tear. No participant in
the low or high ropes courses will be forced to do any element.
Participants are encouraged to try each element, but this course is "challenge by
choice". If someone does not feel up to the challenge of a certain element, they
may choose to stop where they are on the course. Safety Procedures are in place
that enable us to safely remove people from anywhere on the high ropes course.
Before the beginning of each Agogae Trail session, your facilitators will look
over your release forms so that they are aware of any medical conditions that
might limit your participation in certain elements. Facilitators will also
ask the group when they arrive if there are any conditions that they need to be
aware of for the entire group's safety.
Signing the Release Form.
Because of the unique nature of a challenge course, we want you to be fully informed. As with our horseback riding program, we ask you to sign a consent and release of liability, stating that you have been informed and are allowing your child the opportunity to choose whether or not they will participate in any Agogae Trail events.
